Valentia Technologies plans to create 35 new technology jobs in Hamilton as it expands its New Zealand development operations to support AI-enabled healthcare products for the Asia-Pacific region.
The roles will be based at the company’s Asia-Pacific Centre of Development and span AI, software engineering, cloud technologies, healthcare informatics, product development and quality assurance.
Valentia plans to use the Hamilton centre to build and implement cloud-based AI solutions for healthcare organisations in New Zealand and across the region.
Chief executive Dr Ahmad Javad said the investment reflected the company’s commitment to New Zealand’s technology sector.
“New Zealand has been an important part of our technology journey for over a decade. We have built products for this market, employed highly skilled people here and worked closely with the health sector, from primary and community care, cancer care through Maha/Raurau to patient engagement through OctansCare,” Dr Javad said.
“Creating 35 jobs in Hamilton reflects our confidence in New Zealand’s technology capability. We want to develop the next generation of AI-enabled healthcare solutions here and take that innovation into the wider Asia-Pacific.”
He said the company’s focus was on connecting healthcare organisations, clinicians and consumers through technology that supports continuity of care.
