UK digital health company Ultramed has established Ultraprep, an Australian subsidiary to provide access to its MyPreOp platform, enabling patients to complete pre-operative and pre-procedure assessments remotely before surgery.
Ultramed said its technology has supported more than 800,000 patients across 29 NHS trusts and health boards in England and Scotland. The company recently expanded into Ireland with a deployment at Cork University Hospital.
The cloud-based platform enables patients to complete assessments at home and securely share information with clinical teams. According to the company, the technology helps reduce unnecessary appointments and last-minute surgery cancellations while freeing up clinical time.
Ultramed co-founder Paul Upton said the Australian launch represented a significant milestone.
“Designed to let patients complete their pre-operative assessment remotely, and securely share information with clinical teams, the cloud-hosted platforms help reduce unnecessary appointments and last-minute cancellations, free up clinical time and improve the overall patient experience in both publicly funded and independent hospitals,” he said.
The company, which is headquartered at Tremough Innovation Centre in Cornwall, holds B Corp certification and has received a King’s Award for Enterprise.
