New Zealand Police are seeking Police Medical Officers (PMO) in three Auckland districts

NZ Police is seeking doctors with a background in General Practice, A&M, or ED practice to join the PMO rosters across Auckland.

Currently vacancies exist in the Auckland City, Waitemata, and Counties Manukau Districts.

Suitable applicants must

• have experience in GP, A&M, or ED type work
• have expertise in the management of the type of medical issues that present via a Police/custodial environment
• be able to work independently in a custodial setting with clear decision-making
• be available for approximately one night on call each week, and one weekend on call every 3-4-5 weeks (depending on which district). Daytime call is also required, but there is flexibility.
• have a current drivers licence
• be able to pass a stringent Police vetting process

This type of work presents some challenging but rewarding aspects of medicine, working along side the NZ Police and custodial staff. Attractive remuneration and in house training is offered.
