An industry briefing will be held on July 13 for the tender for the continued delivery of the National Cancer Screening Register (NCSR).
The Department of Health, Disability and Ageing have released the tender details.
The National Cancer Screening Register (NCSR) is a digital platform that supports Australia’s National Bowel Cancer Screening Program, National Cervical Screening Program, and since July 1, 2025, the National Lung Cancer Screening Program.
The NCSR provides a single electronic record for each participant and delivers a secure, national infrastructure for collecting, storing, analysing and reporting screening data.
The Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing appointed Telstra Health to build and operate the NCSR in May 2016, following an open competitive tender process.
The Industry Briefing on this Request for Tender commencing at 10:00AM ACT Local Time on 13 July 2026 via a virtual meeting. Tenderers who wish to attend this event must register via email to NCSRATM@Health.gov.au by 10:00 AM on 08 July 2026.
According to the request for tender, the successful provider will be responsible for end-to-end operation of the register, including ICT services, software support and development, participant and healthcare provider services, call centre operations, reporting, data migration, implementation and ongoing continuous improvement.
The department is seeking an outcomes-based arrangement with an initial three-year contract, with options to extend for a further two three-year terms.
Tenders close at 2pm AEST on 28 August 2026, with negotiations with the preferred tenderer expected to commence in November.
