Medtech Global has appointed former Spark Health chief executive Dr Will Reedy as its new CEO, with outgoing CEO Jeremy van de Klundert moving into a new role focused on the company’s expansion in Australia.
Dr Reedy started in the role last month and will focus on accelerating adoption of Medtech AI and Medtech Connect, strengthening customer relationships across New Zealand and Australia and supporting the company’s growth in the region.
He was most recently CEO of Spark Health and has also held a senior leadership role within Accenture’s Global Health Team.
Dr Reedy said primary and community care in Australia and New Zealand was at an “inflection point”, driven by workforce pressures, financial sustainability challenges, growing patient expectations and technologies such as AI.
“The convergence of workforce pressures, financial sustainability challenges, growing patient expectations and technologies like AI are driving an ever-increasing need for a Connected Care Ecosystem,” he said.
“Medtech Global has a significant role to play in this ecosystem now and in the future.”
Mr van de Klundert will remain with Medtech Global as chief revenue officer, with a particular focus on leading the company’s expansion into Australia.
During his time as CEO, he oversaw the development of Medtech AI and Medtech Connect, which the company is now looking to grow across the Australian and New Zealand markets.
Medtech AI integrates AI capabilities into clinical workflows, with the aim of surfacing clinical insights and reducing administrative burden, while Medtech Connect is the company’s telehealth and appointment booking platform.
Medtech Connect supports multiple providers joining an appointment remotely and can be used alongside AI scribe tools including Medtech AI.
