The Oro Rugby Football League Association (RFLA) has made history by appointing Maureen Bemigo Wakiawa as the first female rugby league referee in Northern Province.
Mrs. Wakiawa, a 46-year-old mother of four and a respected local sporting figure, brings a wealth of officiating experience to the role. Already an accredited touch football referee, her transition to rugby league marks a trailblazing milestone for women in the region.
