
Two warring clans of the Makol Tribe in the Surinki local level government area of Lagaip District signed a peace agreement to formally end tribal fighting in the area.
In a significant gesture during the ceremony, the Tape clan surrendered a high-powered AK-47 automatic rifle to Acting Provincial Police Commander Chief Inspector Daniel Yangen witnessed by police and Provincial Law and Order officials plus the surrounding communities.
