Australian Clinical Labs has appointed Dr Amandeep Hansra as a new non-executive director to its Board, pointing to her skills in technology, data, emerging health technologies and business models.
Australian Clinical Labs (ACL) is one of the country’s largest private hospital pathology businesses – with an equivalent market position in community pathology to Sonic Healthcare and Healius.
ACL board chair Stephen Roche said the company was “delighted” that Dr Hansra agreed to join the Board, noting “her appointment will deepen the clinical skill set of the Board following the retirement of Dr Leanne Rowe AM in 2025.”
“Amandeep remains in general practice and will bring clinical oversight into both technology and data, along with experience in developing emerging health technologies and business models. I look forward to welcoming her to the Board.”
ACL noted Dr Hansra is a General Practitioner with more than 20 years clinical experience, with a career including clinical practice, national digital health leadership, government engagement and a number of board roles.
“In her executive career, Dr Hansra has held the roles of Chief Medical Officer with Telstra Health, Head of Clinical Innovation at NIB and Deputy Chief Medical Officer at the Department of Home Affairs,” ACL said in a statement.
“Dr Hansra has led national clinical governance frameworks across digital health, telehealth and technology-enabled care, including managing complex incidents and clinician engagement in emerging models of care.
“Dr Hansra remains committed to her GP practice as a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and acts as Chief Clinical Advisor to the Australian Digital Health Agency.”
She is currently a nonexecutive director of Healthicare, ACHS International, MoleMap New Zealand, Healthengine and the Central and Eastern Sydney Primary Health Network. Dr Hansra also serves as a member of the Industry Growth Committee for the Department of Industry, Science and Resources.
She will join the Board as a non-executive director on 1 July 2026.
