A new partnership between healthcare booking platform Goto.health and identity management provider TrueVault comes as recent cyberattacks affecting GP clinics across Australia have put a spotlight on data security in healthcare, with sensitive patient information increasingly targeted by cybercriminals.
In a statement, the companies said their partnership “reflects a decision made together well before this latest incident.”
“As cyberattacks against the healthcare sector have grown more frequent in recent years, Goto.health and TrueVault came together to bring industry-leading security – including three-factor authentication with biometrics – to clinics across the Goto.health platform.”
The partnership is intended to strengthen both companies’ “shared commitment to trust and security in healthcare, giving partner clinics on the Goto.health platform the tools to protect the patient data they hold.”
TrueVault’s zero-document-retention model means sensitive identity documents – including Medicare card data – are verified but never stored – reducing the risk of theft, which TrueVault said “gives consumers confidence in how their healthcare journey and health data are managed.”
Speaking on the partnership, Goto.health CEO and co-founder Jakomi Mathews said “Health is a prime target for bad actors across the globe, and recent events are the latest reminder of the very real risk clinics face. Given our focus on protecting the clinics that we work with, TrueVault was a natural partner for us. Underpinned by TrueVault’s privacy-first technology, including three-factor authentication with biometrics, this partnership means that clinics on the Goto.health platform can effortlessly safeguard their patient data with industry-leading protection.”
