Global hospital EHR purchasing hits decade low: KLAS

Global hospital EHR purchasing fell to one of its lowest levels in five years in 2025, despite major regional projects continuing in Europe and the Middle East, according to a new KLAS Research report.

The Global Hospital EHR Market Share 2026 report said KLAS validated 189 EHR purchasing decisions in 2025, affecting 447 hospitals and more than 81,000 beds. The number of hospitals and beds affected was the lowest KLAS has tracked in at least 10 years.

Dedalus led the market by contracted beds for the fifth consecutive year. IQVIA had its strongest year on record, with six decisions, mostly in Saudi Arabia, while Epic expanded internationally through Community Connect deployments. Oracle Health won large contracts in Canada, England, Austria and the Middle East.

In Europe, large decisions went to Nexus AG, Softway Medical, Numih France and Cambio, while MV remained the dominant player in Latin America. Akhil Systems and Aosta led activity in India, where most tracked purchasing came from standalone private hospitals.

The Middle East was an outlier, with EHR purchasing activity reaching a five-year high, driven largely by Saudi Arabian Ministry of Health cluster decisions. IQVIA was chosen in multiple cluster decisions, while Adaptive TechSoft, Epic and Oracle Health also secured significant contracts.

Oceania remained quiet, with KLAS validating just one contract in the region in 2025, covering two public hospitals in Fiji selecting MEDITECH Expanse. KLAS said several larger public decisions in Australia had yet to be finalised, meaning the Oceania market is likely to see more activity in coming years.
