
Communities in the Mitnande LLG of Kundiawa Gembogl District in Simbu are urging the district disaster office to act now after frost damaged crops in Gembogl village, while other areas face water shortages due to prolonged dry weather.
Frost covered farmland in villages located right under the foot of Mt. Wilhelm on Monday and Tuesday nights (15th & 16th June 2026). The farmers are worried about crop damage and their next harvest.
