
The Fuzzy Wuzzy Angels carried Catherine Harris’ father for two days along the Kokoda Track. Her father rarely spoke about the war; like many Diggers of his generation, the late Theo Rossi returned from World War II reticent to ever talk about the horrors he had seen.
But there was one exception, one story the Australian serviceman told a young Harris, Kokoda. The Kokoda Track campaign was treacherous for soldiers and the terrain was unforgiving. There were deathly diseases, malaria and dysentery, even starvation.
