Critical blood donation saves mothers and babies in Pomio

With critical blood donation by members of the Papua New Guinea Defence Force, two mothers in Pomio are recovering well and their babies are safe.

One mother was severely anaemic and operation was scheduled for 5th August 2026. Another was pregnant with twins and due for caesarean section operation. Both required blood type ‘O’, and were admitted at Pomio District Hospital in Palmalmal, East New Britian.
