Croakey recently published an article by academics Dr Daeul Jeong and Dr Angela Baeza, urging consideration of the relationships between migration, colonisation and the longest history of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples.
Migrants have a responsibility to respect and acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of this land and support their ongoing efforts for self-determination on their own Country, they wrote in the article.
“If we are going to put down roots and live on this land, we need to think about the history of this land, our position within it, the kind of society we want to create, and what our responsibilities are.”
These authors have now provided their article in multiple languages. Croakey extends our warmest thanks for their commitment to extending the reach and impact of their article.
