ADHA seeks replacement as Hansra steps down

The Australian Digital Health Agency (ADHA) has begun recruiting a new Chief Clinical Adviser, Medicine, following Dr Amandeep Hansra’s decision to step down from the role after more than two years due to professional commitments.

An agency spokesperson told Pulse+IT Dr Hansra would remain in the position until 11 December 2026 to support a transition and handover, before continuing her association with the agency as a Digital Health Adviser.

During her tenure, she has contributed to the agency’s work on interoperability, digital health standards, modernising national infrastructure and supporting the safe adoption of emerging technologies.

The agency said Dr Hansra had brought clinical insight and sector expertise to its work, helping bridge the gap between national digital health policy, innovation and frontline clinical practice.

She had also been a strong advocate for ensuring clinicians and consumers remained central to digital health initiatives.

The agency has now opened applications for her replacement, seeking an experienced senior medical professional to provide clinical leadership across national digital health policy, programs and services, including My Health Record.

The successful applicant will join the agency’s leadership team and be responsible for building relationships across the health sector, ensuring its work is clinically led, evidence-based and informed by the needs of clinicians and consumers.

The agency said Dr Hansra’s continued involvement as a Digital Health Adviser would allow it to retain her expertise and insights following her departure from the chief clinical adviser position.
