Speaker of the Bougainville House of Representatives Simon Pentanu has called on Bougainvilleans to draw strength from their shared history of sacrifice as the region advances its pursuit of greater sovereignty.
Addressing crowds at this year’s Bougainville Foundation Day celebrations, Pentanu described the theme “From Sacrifice to Sovereignty” as both “appropriate and timely,” highlighting the region’s struggles and achievements.
