Cyclist Kingsley Hopkins has won the Madang Independence Bike Race after leading a field of 107 riders across a 17.6-kilometre course from Asuar on the South Coast to Laiwaden Oval in Madang town on Saturday, September 12, 2026.
The race started at around 11am following medical checks for all participating cyclists. The bicycles were transported to Asuar, where riders lined up for the start.
