PBS listing of biologics for COPD is an exciting new development for patients with severe lung disease, who are still symptomatic despite optimal triple therapy. In this talk, respiratory physician Dr Clare Tiedeman will present the evidence for the incorporation of biologics in the management of advanced COPD and their effectiveness, which has proven to be substantial for a significant proportion of patients. Importantly, she will also discuss how to identify those COPD patients who are most likely to benefit from this new treatment and the eligibility criteria for patients to access the new biologics on the PBS.
