
Papua New Guinea’s next generation of football stars will take centre stage in Honiara this week as the PNG U16 women’s team competes in the OFC U-16 Women’s Championship 2026. PNG joins seven other Oceania nations vying for regional glory and a coveted pathway to the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup 2027 in Morocco.
The tournament kicks off on Sunday, 6 September, in the Solomon Islands, featuring PNG, Cook Islands, Fiji, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Samoa, Tonga, and the host nation.
