HealthShare has expanded its partnership with Lyrebird Health, with its specialist and allied health directory becoming the default provider directory for GPs writing referral letters using Lyrebird.
The integration allows GPs to select a specialist or allied health provider from HealthShare’s national directory while Lyrebird drafts the referral letter, without having to search for provider details separately.
HealthShare said its directory is already used by more than 26,000 GPs each month through their clinical software and includes information such as specialty and sub-specialty, areas of interest, languages spoken, gender, next available appointment times and gap scheme participation.
For GPs using Lyrebird with Best Practice, HealthShare’s directory is available alongside the practice’s existing Best Practice address book.
Lyrebird can identify referrals discussed during a consultation and draft multiple referral letters, with each using the practice’s Best Practice template and letterhead and including relevant patient information.
Once a provider has been selected, the referral letter is saved to Correspondence Out in Best Practice ready to send.
Lyrebird Health CEO Kai Van Lieshout said the company wanted its platform to work with systems and services already being used by GPs.
“HealthShare already supports tens of thousands of Australian GPs to find specialists and allied health providers, and we’re excited to bring that directly into Lyrebird – so GPs have the information they need when writing referrals, without having to go looking for it across different systems,” Mr Van Lieshout said.
The integration builds on an existing partnership between the companies, with Lyrebird also using HealthShare’s BetterConsult pre-consultation questionnaire to capture patient consent for AI scribing.
HealthShare said more than 97 per cent of patients provide consent through the workflow.
HealthShare co-founder Rami Weiss said the companies were looking to reduce the administrative burden on GPs.
“It is exciting seeing our products integrated more closely to make the experience seamless for our mutual GP users,” Mr Weiss said.
