
Farmers from the upper areas of Gembogl in Kundiawa-Gembogl District in Chimbu are refusing to let drought and frost destroy their livelihoods. Instead, they are calling for support to expand simple irrigation so they can keep feeding communities across the region.
For potato seed grower John Banda, the last few months have been tough. A severe frost killed a large hectare of his potato crop just as a prolonged drought set in. The plants were only four months old.
