Aged care technology provider CareLynx has completed an integration with My Health Record and has been selected to extend the capability to allied health practitioners through an Australian Digital Health Agency industry offer.
The Brisbane-based company said the integration allows health professionals using its Clinical Care Navigator platform to access shared clinical documents from My Health Record without leaving the CareLynx system.
Users can access information including hospital discharge summaries, pathology results and diagnostic imaging reports, as well as send e-referrals through the platform.
CareLynx said it had also been selected by the ADHA to expand My Health Record connectivity to allied health practitioners through its platform.
CareLynx CEO Rachel Boden said the integration would give aged care and allied health providers access to a more complete view of a person’s health information.
“Connecting to My Health Record, and enabling Allied Health Practitioners the same access, means our users are no longer working with incomplete information – they can see the same shared clinical picture as the rest of a person’s care team,” Ms Boden said.
“For aged care clients with complex or chronic conditions, this connectivity translates directly into safer, more coordinated care.”
The company said the integration would also make pathology and diagnostic imaging reports made available under the federal government’s Share by Default requirements accessible within CareLynx.
It said the additional information could support assessment, e-referrals, treatment planning and follow-up care for allied health providers, particularly when treating people with complex and ongoing health needs.
The Australian Digital Health Agency said embedding My Health Record capabilities within existing clinical systems could improve access to information for allied health professionals.
“Allied health professionals are a vital part of integrated, team-based care, and this milestone helps ensure they have the information they need to deliver safe, person-centred care,” the agency said.
