NSW Health confirms SDPR scale back

NSW Health has confirmed it will phase the next rollout of its Single Digital Patient Record (SDPR), with Northern Beaches Hospital now the only site scheduled to go live in November.

A NSW Health spokesperson told Pulse+IT the decision followed the Tranche B Go-Live Readiness Assessment and consideration of feedback and lessons from the first tranche of the statewide program.

“Tranche B will commence with Northern Beaches Hospital in November 2026, with planning of the phasing of the remainder of Tranche B underway,” the spokesperson said.

Northern NSW, Mid North Coast, Northern Sydney and Central Coast local health districts had previously been scheduled as part of the late-2026 Tranche B rollout.

NSW Health said phasing the implementation would allow it to apply lessons from the first rollout, continue stabilisation and optimisation work and strengthen readiness for subsequent implementations.

The spokesperson also pointed to workforce considerations, saying the revised approach would allow NSW Health to focus on the “capacity and wellbeing” of teams implementing Tranche B and subsequent stages of the program.

NSW Health did not specify revised go-live dates for the remainder of Tranche B in response to inquiries from Pulse+IT.
