Three PNG Shipriders to board US Coast Guard Cutter Harriet Lane for next maritime patrol

The United States Coast Guard Cutter Harriet Lane will depart Port Moresby tomorrow Juy 18th, carrying three Papua New Guinean (PNG) law enforcement shipriders, marking a critical next phase in the ongoing bilateral maritime security partnership between the two nations.

The three shipriders, representing PNG’s national customs and fisheries authorities, will embark on a five-to-six-day operational patrol within Papua New Guinea’s sovereign waters and Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) to deter illegal fishing, narcotics smuggling, and transnational crime.
